Saint Demetrios School participants in the Archdiocesan Spelling Bee competition were Zoe Sherring and Mila Lyssikatos of the 7th grade. The competition took place at the Archdiocesan headquarters in New York City, and the students were welcomed by His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros who also presented certificates and gift cards to the participants.
The St. Demetrios students performed exceptionally well in a competition which lasted close to 90 minutes. Mila placed 3rd out of 10 students and Zoe placed 2nd. Information will be forthcoming on Zoe’s participation in the NYC SPELLING BEE SCRIPPS program.
