St. Demetrios Greek-American School, a NYSED accredited private school, provides a rigorous college preparatory program through a well-balanced curriculum that is also based on the tenets of the Christian faith- charity, service and empowerment of the human spirit. St. Demetrios' curriculum meets New York State Regents requirements. We take pride that nearly 100% of recent graduates have gone on to four year colleges and are eligible for scholarships.

In addition to the Regents endorsement diploma, awarded by fulfilling the requirements set forth by the New York State Board of Regents, eligible students may qualify for an additional diploma recognized by the Greek Ministry of National Education. Our graduates qualify for admission to colleges and universities of Greece.

High School Extension Program

The High School Extension Program offers qualified juniors and seniors during the academic year, the opportunity to earn college credits at local universities: Saint John’s, Queens College (CUNY), Fashion Institute of Technology, Fordham University, New York University, and New York Institute of Technology.

What We Do Best

We are proud to offer an Honors program to academically talented students. The program is designed to meet the educational needs of the most highly motivated students, through a challenging curriculum that develops their talents and allows them to perform at the peak of their capabilities.

Students who graduate are accepted to some of the finest colleges/universities in the world including: New York University, Fordham, Macaulay Honors (CUNY), SUNY, Sophie Davis College of Medicine, Cornell, Columbia, Yale, and the University of Paris (France).
