St. Demetrios Greek-American School has been a vital member of the Astoria community since its founding in 1956. We are the only private school in New York that educates students from Preschool through the 12th grade with a dedication to academic excellence and a focus on teaching the Greek language, history and culture as well as the Orthodox Christian religion. By building on the rich culture of our Greek-American heritage and our Orthodox faith, we instill values that prepare our students for the future.
It’s a tribute to our school that former students return to enroll their own children in St. Demetrios. We are also privileged to have some of our former students join our staff and faculty. For decades, our school has created countless memories and lifelong friendships for the thousands of students who have called St. Demetrios their home.
